Limoux is a beautiful town with numerous cafes, bars, shops and a wonderful assortment of restaurants - all within walking distance. There is a cinema, museum/art gallery, the only piano museum in France, indoor & outdoor swimming pool, canoeing and an excellent local rugby team. Skiing, walking, rafting, cycling, bird watching, photography and driving on the many quiet lanes are just some of the pleasures to be enjoyed in this quiet part of France – or simply relaxing in the nearby thermal baths. A permanent multi media presentation takes place every day just a couple of minutes walk away, for those interested in learning more about the Cathars and Occitan life and history whilst the exciting treasures of Rennes-leChateau and Montsegure are only a short drive away. The many local wine producers are only too willing to let you taste their range of wines and Blanquettes and a guided tour of the local producer’s “cave” is an excellent way to improve your wine tasting skills. There is an excellent train service into the incredible walled city of Carcassonne; with connections to the rest of France. The local airport is Carcassonne (half an hour away) or Toulouse (one hour away). Our
baker is just two minutes walk away for those fresh morning croissants
each day. We provide a small selection of films & music and
a video library is nearby. An internet café is less than
five minutes walk away. Mobile phone coverage is excellent and
the town has English speaking doctors and dentists.
